Here is a chrome
plating line that is currently being built for a customer.
Shown to the left are a series of pictures showing the
decorative triple chrome plating line being up together. The
buffing area is located behind the glass windows on this
first picture

The second picture
shows a vent fan, which is one of two fans. One fan
sucks inward and the other one blows outward. This
keeps the air circulating at all times. There is also
two air condition systems to keep the hot plating room cooler.
The first tank is the Alkleen aluminum soak tank. The yellow
steel tank is the Electroscrub tank. The white tanks
are rinse tanks.

Picture here is a
drainage pit for the rinse water to drain into. The
rinse tanks drains via the white PVC pipes into that hole
(the pit). Inside the pit is a sump pump that pumps
the rinse water into a large storage tank in the other room
where the water is the treated and discharged.

Here are the tanks being wired
with various voltage outlets for rectifiers, filter pumps,
immersion heaters, and controllers. The tanks are being lined up in the proper order.
Notice how well lit the room is. This is very
important because you need to see the part clearly while you
are plating. These tanks are (starting from the
nearest one) TC-Chrome rinse, the gray tank is going to be a
TC-Chrome tank, two Bright Nickel rinses, and Bright Nickel
tank.

This is an Schedule 80 PVC air sparger
tubing constructed to provide air agitation for the Bright Copper tank.
It will sit at the bottom of the Bright Copper tank once it
is installed.
Air agitation is very vital in many chemical processes in
plating and anodizing. Check your manual for specifics
in air sparger construction and what tanks to put them in..

Here are the other set of vent fan and
air conditioner. This fan vents air back outside while
the fan on the other side of the room brings fresh are into
the room. Ventilation is very important in plating and
anodizing. It helps keep the room cooler and the air
in there cleaner and safer for the tank operator.

This is the aluminum processing and
prepping side of the plating line. Most metals will be
prepared on the right or far aisle, while aluminum will need
to be ran separately on the near aisle.

Again here is a better view of the prep
lines. On the right, most metal, such as brass, steel,
iron, bronze, copper, pot metal, and more are prepared to
plate. On the left, only aluminum is processed prior
to plating. All metals will end up in the same chrome,
nickel, and copper plating tanks.
